Must Do Before Leaving for Your Orlando Trip

September 24, 2015

Leaving for vacations is just exhilarating! You’ve been counting the weeks, days and hours and now is finally time to come visit us and have a magical vacation with us at  in Orlando! But wait, you forgot your phone charger. Well… you always have to forget something, right? WRONG! We want you to be perfectly prepared when coming to stay with us at Lake Buena Vista Resort in Orlando. So here is what you will need to do before your Orlando vacation:
Start a list: a few weeks before your trip, start a ongoing list on your phone or notebook to jot down random thing you remember you want to take. Or, if you have the space, just leave a carry on luggage in your room and start placing those random things in it as you remember them.

Laundry: most of us have been guilty of forgetting to wash a piece of clothing we love and have to leave it behind. Start doing laundry a few days before your trip and separating the things you will for sure take with you.

Food: Avoid buying perishable foods on the days preceding your trip. Try to consume what you have or offer a few of your perishables to family members or friends/neighbors to avoid wasting them.

Documents: Get all of your family’s documents ready in one single place. also, remember to retrieve documents or valuables from your bank’s safe box, if you use one. If your trip is on a Sunday and you keep your passport in a bank’s safe, you will need to retrieve it on a business day, for example.

Stay: Contact the hotel you are staying at if your flight has any delays. A hotel will automatically mark your reservation a “no show” if you don’t arrive the day of your check in and that room will become available again in their systems. If they are sold out or close to selling out, you could lose your reservation. If you are staying at our hotel you can contact us through Facebook, email or phone!

Last minute: Make a list of last minute items you will have to grab the day of your trip. Things like toothbrush, sunglasses, snacks, keys,

Boarding pass: If you are traveling by plane, do the online check in to avoid lines and print out your boarding pass. Most airlines allow you to check in 24 hours in advance of your scheduled flight if you do it online. Also, make sure you have plans for who is taking you to the airport or where you are leaving your car if you are driving to the airport.

The day of your trip:

  • Take the garbage out! If you have ever made that mistake… you know it can be a costly one! Trash will attract bugs, so get all the trash out including the ones from your bedroom, desk, bathroom and kitchen!
  • Check off all the items in your last minute-items list.
  • Grab the chargers you still haven’t packed like for your phones, tablets, laptops and cameras!
  • Unplug all electric items you won’t be using like TVs, kitchen appliances and other electronics.

Is there anything you would add to this list? Let us know by visiting our Facebook page and leaving us a comment! We would love to hear from you! Have a safe trip 🙂
