Why Height Requirements Matter

Disney enforces height rules for ride safety. These requirements ensure that ride restraints and safety systems function properly for all guests. If someone doesn’t meet a ride’s height requirement, Cast Members won’t allow them to board — so it’s best to know ahead of time!

Magic Kingdom® Height Requirements

Magic Kingdom has some of the most beloved rides — and most are open to all heights. But a few favorites have minimums:

Height-Required Rides

  • TRON Lightcycle / Run – 48″ (122 cm) +

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 40″ (102 cm) +

Blizzard Beach®

  • Height rules vary by slide, including minimums (48″+) and maximums (48″ or shorter on certain kiddie slides).

Quick Tips for Families

Measure before you go. Disney Cast Members will check heights at ride queues.
✅ Some rides have an example of the ride's chair with the measurement requirement at the entrance of the ride. Measure your child before entering the ride's line.
