Disney Tips for Big Groups

Many families come together for a Disney family reunion, or friends coordinate vacation time to do Disney together, because theme parks are so much more fun when shared with our loved ones! But when you have a large party, navigating the park can get a little tricky. That’s why we wrote this blog post with tips that you MUST remember to follow:

Download the My Disney Experience App

Download the My Disney Experience App for maps, showtimes, and attraction wait times. If you have an account for Disney+, Hulu, or even ESPN, you can use the same login email and password for My Disney Experience.
After you sign in to My Disney Experience, you should create a Family & Friends list that includes the members of your travel party.
Finally, while you're in the My Disney Experience app, link your fast passes together prior to arriving at the parks. You will need them to be linked so everyone in your party can get the same Fastpass+ times and you can ride together!

Make Reservations

When it comes to dinner, we recommend making reservations in advance if you’re planning to dine at your favorite Disney restaurant. Reservations can be tricky to snag, especially for larger groups, so it’s always better to plan ahead rather than rely on luck.

You can also take advantage of Disney's Quick-Service dining with the My Disney Experience app! Browse menus, order ahead, and skip the wait—all cashless and hassle-free. Just check in through the app when you arrive, and your meal will be freshly prepared and ready to enjoy!

If you’re staying in one of our suites at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa, you can always skip the stress and enjoy a home-cooked meal in your own full kitchen. But if dining out is your preference, be sure to call ahead or use the My Disney Experience App to reserve your table or place your order—it’s super convenient!

Be Early

If you are planning on catching a show that starts at 4pm and would like to sit altogether with your party, you might want to be at the gate 30 minutes to one hour in advance. Some shows are more popular than others and it will also depend on how full the park is, but always arrive early to catch your favorite shows, otherwise you will have to split up your party, sit way back in the auditorium or even not be allowed in if the show reaches full capacity.

Pack Some Snacks and Water

Keep hydrated! Pack water bottles, buy water or ask for a cup of water from one of their many restaurants.
Snacks will come in handy when waiting in line to ride your next adventure.
Also keep in mind, Walt Disney World is strict with safety, if a child doesn’t meet a ride’s height requirement they will not be allowed to board, even if they’re only 1/2 an inch short.

Do you offer group rates for large parties?

Absolutely! We love welcoming large groups to the resort. Special group rates may be available for parties of 10 or more guests. Reach out to our Group Sales team by filling out our Group Vacation Contact Form and a sales representative will be happy to help make your group getaway as memorable as possible!

Are there complimentary shuttles to the parks?

Your stay includes complimentary shuttle service to Walt Disney World® Theme Parks, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld. Book your seats in advance through Fabulous Buses, your promo code will be waiting for you at check-in.

Can our group reserve multiple suites close together or in the same building?

We'll do our best to accommodate your group! Please note that group rates and benefits apply to parties of 10 or more guests. While we can't guarantee specific buildings or floors, you're welcome to add a special request to your reservation.
