  • Dad can master the waves at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park with private surfing lessons. Instructors guide participants through standing on a surfboard and riding waves in the park’s large wave pool. Classes last 2.5 hours, with a maximum of 12 people per session. Participants must be 8 or older.
  • For a different adventure, head to Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, where you can rent kayaks or canoes to explore the resort’s streams and ponds. Rentals are available at The Bike Barn in the Meadow Recreation Area for $13 an hour, open daily.
  • At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Dad can embark on a three-hour, privately guided Wild Africa Trek through a savannah, exploring exotic African wildlife. The adventure includes a serene overlook with African-inspired food and drinks. The trek costs $189 to $249 per person, plus tax, depending on the season.
