Packing List for Condo-Style Hotel

July 17, 2015

One of the greatest advantages of staying in a hotel that has a fully-equipped kitchen like the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa is that you get to cook a few meals and save some money. If you are traveling by plane, your best option will be to stop at a grocery store and purchase the items you need when you get to Orlando. There is a Walmart and a Publix located near the hotel, so that’ll already save you some time. But if you are traveling by car, you can actually bring some stuff from home and avoid spending precious vacation time shopping for groceries.

Either way, we have gathered a list of things that we suggest you take with you if you are spending a vacation in a hotel suite. Use this list as your base and add or subtract items to your preference.

Kitchen:

  • Sugar/sugar substitute
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • All purpose seasoning
  • Napkins
  • Coffee
  • Coffee filters
  • Coffee creamer
  • Tea

We would only recommend taking dry items on a road trip. Leave the refrigerated items to be bought once you arrive. Here are a few options on non-perishable items to bring:

  • Boxed mashed potatoes
  • Mac & cheese
  • Granola bars
  • Sliced bread
  • Hamburger/hot dog buns
  • Popcorn
  • Chips
  • Spaghetti
  • Oil
  • Pancake mix
  • Powdered juices
  • Instant oatmeal
  • Candy
  • Pop tarts
  • Pasta sauce
  • Cereal
  • Animal crackers
  • Trail mix

Our hotel is a self-catering resort, and you can learn more about it here, so we do not provide daily housekeeping services. However our suites are equipped with dishwasher and washer and dryer, for your convenience. Here are a few things you can bring if you choose to not request any housekeeping services:

General Items:

  • Dishwasher detergent (pods work best to avoid spillage)
  • Laundry detergent (pods)
  • Dryer sheets
  • Tissues
  • Bar soap
  • Face soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Lotion
  • Sunscreen
  • Hand sanitizer

Once here in Orlando you can buy quick items to complement what you brought. For example:

  • Ground beef/turkey for spaghetti
  • Frozen Lasagna
  • Hot dogs
  • Hamburger
  • Tomatoes
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Lunch meat
  • Cheese
  • Pillsbury biscuits
  • Eggs
  • Bacon
  • Orange juice/ apple juice
  • Milk
  • Fresh fruit
  • Snack veggies such as baby carrots and celery

This list can vary greatly depending on what kinds of food you are used to eating, so please modify it to your needs. If you want some great snack suggestions to take to the theme parks, please check out this blog post. We hope to see you soon!
